Bechem United FC, DAF & Miracle Africa International Foundation Successfully Host 5th Edition of “Education Through Sports” Football Tournament in Accra, Ghana
On Friday, June 5, 2026, Bechem United Football Club, in collaboration with the Diaspora African Forum and Miracle Africa International Foundation, successfully hosted the 5th Edition of the “Education Through Sports” Football Tournament at the Borstal Institute in Accra, Ghana.
The event drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries and partners committed to empowering the next generation.
Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Mission of DAF Embassy gave a speech on Education Through Sports’ legacy of using football to instill discipline, education, and leadership in young people.
The Italian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Laura Ranalli officially was also in attendance to officially kicked off the tournament.
In a special presentation, DAF Sports Consultant Mr. Bright Williams presented jerseys belonging to Hope Avayevu and Prince Adu Poku to Ambassador Dr. Bennett as a token of appreciation for her support in advancing their football careers.
The Founder of Bechem United Football Club reaffirmed the club’s commitment to grassroots development and using the sport to create opportunities for youth.
He also made a presentation of a jersey to Ambassador Bennett.
This year’s edition was particularly noteworthy for its inclusion of the Rootz Football Team, providing talented women footballers with a platform to showcase their skills and inspiring greater participation of girls in sports.
Although Miracle Africa International Foundation’s Founder and President, Nadia Murabet, was represented not presence, she conveyed heartfelt support and goodwill from afar, showcasing the Foundation’s continued dedication to youth empowerment through education and sports.
